Course Description: Optometry’s first astronaut, Dr. Larry DeLucas, will discuss his experiences on the United States Microgravity Laboratory and the importance of space science and its effect on life on earth. His entertaining and informative presentation will include personal anecdotes and slides taken aboard the shuttle. This course will provide an overview of NASA’s space program including space flight, exploration, and biotechnology research.

S241 - “A Day in the Life of a Clinical Director – Refractive Surgery Cases”

Course Description: This course covers interesting cases from two of TLC’s Centers that are affiliated with schools of optometry.  The cases will be presented by students and then discussed by the operating surgeon and clinical director.  The cases will range from routine cases to interesting and complex cases with an emphasis on the post-operative care of refractive surgery patients.  During the course of the program the clinical directors will discuss the role and responsibility of optometrists in a laser center.
