AOSA Travel Grants

AOSA Travel Grants make travel to Optometry’s Meeting® more affordable for students from each school and college of optometry in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada. Two $500 travel grants will be awarded per school. The finalists from each school or college are also eligible to compete nationally for an additional $1,000 for the top three winning essays, determined by a committee established by the AOSA, on the topic: "When treating a patient with dry, irritaed eyes, what differentials are you considering to diagnose the patient's condition? What would be your plan of action to help this patient?"

Allergan Travel Grant Scholarships will be presented during Optometry's Meeting®. Students must be present to claim his/her scholarships.

HOYA Vision Care Student Grant and Scholarship Program

HOYA Vision Care is offering 3rd and 4th Year Students a $1000 grant program and an opportunity to qualify for a $6000 Scholarship. To be considered, students will submit an ePoster Case Study involving the use of a HOYA product. There will be one winner at each school and each winner will receive $1000.  The winning ePosters will then be reviewed by HOYA's ECP Advisory Panel and an overall winner chosen; the overall winner will receive an additional $6,000 scholarship!
The ePoster must be submitted online by May 15, 2013.
Scholarship is open to students in the United States and Puerto Rico.

Varilux® Student Grant Award Program

Optometry students with experience in the clinic's dispensary are invited to submit a case report (maximum length: 2,000 words)  on patients fit with Varilux® lenses. Submissions are due to the applicants’ school’s clinical staff by February 1, 2013. The student with the winning case report at each school will receive $1,000, plus entry into the national judging. The national award winner and faculty advisor will each receive a $2500 travel grant to Optometry’s Meeting®.

AOSA wants to help make travel to Optometry’s Meeting® more affordable for students at each school and college of optometry in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada. One $500 Travel Grant will be awarded per school. This year's topic: "When fitting a presbyopic patient in contact lenses, what steps do you take to decide what the best contact lens is for your patient?  How do you decide between monovision, multifocal, single vision, etc.?"

TVCI Travel Grant Scholarships will be presented during Optometry's Meeting® . Students must be present to claim their scholarships.

The AOA-CLCS Student Photo Contest 2013

Students and Residents are invited to submit an outstanding digital image (clinical, abstract, action, etc.) paired with a brief case report that involves contact lenses and anterior segment topics. Students and Residents may submit more than one entry!
The Overall Winner will receive: a $1,500 travel grant to attend Optometry's Meeting®, A TROPHY with the students name engraved along with their school's name to be displayed proudly (the trophy will travel each year to the school of the overall winner), and an AOA Gallery Print (20" X 24") canvas of the winning image.
Runner-Ups will each receive: a $1,000 travel grant to attend Optometry's Meeting® and an AOA Gallery Print (20" X 24") canvas of their image.

Winners must attend Optometry's Meeting® CLCS function to receive travel grant (CLCS function to be determined in May). All winners must submit a W-9 or W-8 (international) form to receive travel grants. All submitted photos become the property of AOA CLCS.
